Becoming an Open Water Diver is your chance to explore a whole new world that most people don't get the chance to enjoy. The academics are online which allows students to progress at their own rate. The online material includes Chapter Sections and Review Questions to help teach students important information about SCUBA DIVING. During the class time, we review and discuss the important topics that every scuba diver needs to become a comfortable and conifident diver. This allows us to go through the large amount of material efficiently.

We will go to  Pool (we usually use Sandia High School) after each classroom session. During the pool sessions, students will learn Basic skills, ascents, emergency producers, and become confident being on SCUBA equipment.

Class Schedule

We have classes year round except in the month of December. We run two classes a month that you can choose from

  • 4 Saturdays from 12:00pm - 7:30pm

  • 7 Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00pm - 10:30pm

After each class, students will need to plan for a weekend to complete their Certification Dives in Santa Rosa.

STEP 1: Orientation

First off, we need to know who you are. Come by the shop to get your free personal orientation where we can discuss all the class options that are available to you as well as everything that is involved for you to take one of our classes. At this time we will register you giving you access to your online course.

STEP 2: Classroom

You are learning to dive, which means you are also learning to be awesome, and its supposed to be FUN. However, every now and then we have to buckle down and be serious. Most of your online is completed on your time but we do have to watch videos and review information. During this time, a Instructor will start to show you the equipment and how to use it properly.

STEP 3: Pool Time

Practice, Practice, Practice!! We will have you practice and repeat all of your skills in the pool until they become second nature to you. During the pool we take the time and demonstrate every skill and procedure to make you a safe and confident diver.

STEP 4: Certification

Time to take the plunge. You will have a minimum of 4 dives spread out over 2 days to put everything you have learned into practice. Now you can show off your skills and be officially certified to the DIVE WORLD. This is over a weekend at Blue Hole, Santa Rosa.
